  • Wrapping in comments messed up by parentheses
  • Wrapping comments in Vim messed up by parentheses
  • # Problem
  • Wrapping in comments gets messed up in the presence of parentheses. This happens
  • with both auto wrapping and manual wrapping (`gw`).
  • # MWE
  • This is what happens in a python file (`file.py`):
  • ```py
  • # This is a test python comment with parentheses near the line break (this is
  • # content
  • # within
  • # the
  • # parens)
  • # you see what I mean?
  • ```
  • # Tried
  • I tried [`:set nocindent`](https://vi.stackexchange.com/q/8173) but that didn't
  • have any effect.
  • Putting `vim.opt.cindent = false` in my config didn't work either.
  • Wrapping the same statement works fine in a `.txt`:
  • ```txt
  • This is a test python comment with parentheses near the line break (this is
  • content within the parens) you see what I mean?
  • ```
  • # Want
  • Want auto wrapping and `gw` to produce:
  • ```py
  • # This is a test python comment with parentheses near the line break (this is
  • # content within the parens) you see what I mean?
  • ```
  • # Configuration
  • Using LunarVim with the following relevant settings in my `config.lua`:
  • ```lua
  • vim.opt.tw = 80
  • vim.opt.wrap = true
  • ```
