Restore tabs from windows.plist

Due to unfortunate circumstances (my own shortcomings), I have managed to back up only ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.apple.Safari.savedState/windows.plist before making changes to that file, while overlooking data.data in the same directory. I now longer possess any version of that file to compatibly pair with windows.plist, thus Safari is no longer able to use the entries in windows.plist. On the other hand, I do possess a copy of ~/Library/Safari/History.db
. How can I restore previously open windows and tabs by combining information from both of these files?

Have you already checked if there might be a time machine backup? (2 comments)

I'd be very happy if I'd been that lucky.
