Code blocks on mastodon

Recently, I've seen a number of mastodon toots which show code with a special markup, e.g. a light font on a red background. One example can be found at https://wetdry.world/@jessienab/114857900769808977 (the first line of the toot contains some strong language, which I removed for the screenshot below):

Screenshot of a mastodon toot which shows code with a light font on a red background. The text reads "support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1493782 about:config Enter : browser.urlbar.trimURLs Set as false"

I've tried to reproduce this on https://fosstodon.org with code fences, <code> ... <\code> etc, but I can't reproduce the result. Is there a special trick or does this require a specific instance/server/client/whatever?
