Disabling windows double click on title bar behaviour

In windows 11, how can I disable the behavior that double click on the title bar maximize/restore windows size? It is very annoying.

Also when I use Firefox, for some reason,even click maximize/restore. not sure way.

What behavior are you expecting when double-clicking the title bar? What did it do before Win 11 that you are used to? I just checked on Windows 10 pro, and it toggles between maximized and normal window. I'm used to using Alt-Space X and Alt-Space R to maximize and restore, so didn't know until now that double click also did this or when that was added.

This behaviour hasn't changed since Windows 3.11. I can't speak for earlier versions.

If that's the case, then the question makes less sense. I thought the OP might have gotten used to a previous behavior, and the new behaviour disrupts his workflow. If it's always (for 40 years apparently) done what it does now, then there wouldn't be any confusion or "muscle memory" issue. How is the answer to this question then not just "So don't do that."?

Just confirmed my memory. Windows 3.10 from 1992 already had maximize on double click on the titlebar. Haven't tried older versions. https://www.pcjs.org/software/pcx86/sys/windows/3.10/

The behavior has been there forever, but maybe different versions of Windows have different ways to change behaviors, so the version would be important. (I remember the move from XP to 7 clobbering a bunch of my accessibility settings and I had to learn new ways to handle the problems. So if I'd been asking for help, I would have needed to specify Win7.)
