I was using Linux mint and Windows 10 together (in different partitions). Few months I was using it freely. Today I got a message in Windows 10 (new updates available or shutdown and update) then, I clicked on shutdown and update. After finishing the update 50% automatically restarted my laptop.

After updating Windows any user get's following error (grub rescue error).

grub rescue error

How to fix the problem? After rebooting my PC this problem is keep happening. What to do now? Can I solve the issue using live bootable USB?

Why there is a Linux tag?

deleted user wrote almost 3 years ago

@FoggyFinder Read the question. I think most of linux users face the problem if they have Windows alongside. This problem mostly occurs for Linux. I don't think that it occur in Windows. But, if you delete grub loader in Windows somehow than you will face the problem also. And, I faced the issue while using Debian-Based Linux and, I know how to solve it using Debian-Based. This question will be helpful for future users

OK. I see it now. Can you add these crucial details to the Q?

@mods I would request to migrate it to Linux Community. To the reviewer I would request to migrate it rather than closing it.

@MonicaCellio is cross-posting ok? You had write while you decline flag,"to post it in linux". So, can i post the same question wherever i want?

@Istiak‭ yes, if it's on-topic where you ask it, go ahead. You might need to adjust the content for the community where you're asking it (I say that generally; I haven't reviewed this question with that in mind).
