How to re-justify a text under an image in GIMP

I have a raster logo image with transparent background which I edit with GIMP and which is comprised of two primary elements:

  • A drawing
  • A text under the drawing

The text is "justified" under to image so to cover the same width as the image.

The text under the drawing had an extra letter which I selected with the free selection tool and then removed by hitting the Delete keyboard key.

I consider to try to re-justify the text relational to the drawing.
How to do that?

If the text is not too long, erase it completely, import the image into a vector drawing tool like in... (1 comment)

If the text is not too long, erase it completely, import the image into a vector drawing tool like inkscape and retype the text. Vectorised text always gives better results as pixelated text. People will be able to zoom in, copy it, etc.
