Welcome to the Power Users community on Codidact!

Power Users is a Q&A site for questions about the usage of computer software and hardware. We are still a small site and would like to grow, so please consider joining our community. We are looking forward to your questions and answers; they are the building blocks of a repository of knowledge we are building together.

Is the site name "Power User" or "Power Users"?

+5
−0

The URL of the site shows "powerusers", matching the drop down list of sites at the top right of the page, and the list of sites in the page footer, which both say "Power Users" (plural). However, the logo at the top left of the page shows "POWER USER" (singular), and so does the logo on the dashboard page, where the logo is the only representation of the site name (no accompanying text).

Which one does the community consider to be the name of the site? Should one be adjusted to match the other?

As a result of this discussion, there are now draft logos saying "Power Users" available for community feedback.

Why this question is not yet "answered"?

Besides, what was already mentioned, there is a post titled "Welcome to Power Users" -> https://powerusers.codidact.com/posts/281705. It was posted by Monica Cellio 2y ago; the Discord channel for this community is titled "power users", so I think that I think that this question should be marked in some way as answered. Is there a problem with the current answer being accepted?

Welcome to Codidact!

The reason for this question is the fact that the site logo (at the top left of this page) does not match the other places that you mention.

This question has one answer, which says that it would be best to change the logo. As a result, new logos have been drafted which you can give feedback on in a separate Meta discussion. All of these draft logos say "Power Users", to match the site name. I have edited the question to link to the logo discussion to make this clearer.

As for the answer being "accepted", that is a feature of other question and answer sites that reflects the opinion of the question author. On Codidact the approach is slightly different. Here anyone can add a reaction to an answer, not just the question author.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I understand that the logo triggered the question, but I'm still confused about how things are handled here.

I'm glad you're asking questions. It can take a while to get used to a new way of doing things.

If there's anything you think could be improved then feel free to raise a new Meta question so it can be discussed. That's how most of the existing decisions were made - by the community.
