Tagging questions about crossplatform software

This is a follow-up to Should we use more specific version tags for software?

The referred question is about tagging software, more specifically software versions and presents the case of windows-10-21h1, which is an operative system.

One of the answers mentions the ms-office, but it doesn't consider that some companies like Google and Microsoft use the same "brand" for all the platforms Windows, Mac, Web, Android, iPhone and iPad, etc.

i.e. Nowadays, "Microsoft Office" is "Microsoft 365". While the apps for all the platforms have the same name, their look and feel is not the same and not all the features are available on all platforms.

We already have a question about how to sort numbers separated by commas in MS Word. Thanks to the screenshot, it's evident that the OP is using a MS Word version for Windows. Let say that I would like to make a follow-up question about the same but using apps for different platforms:

  • Word app for the Web
  • Word app for Android

How should these questions be tagged?

"Thanks to the screenshot, it's evident": please be careful with such conclusions, there is a user who will not show their own screenshots, but random pictures from other sites, which might or might not have any connection to their setup. I once fell into this trap, writing an answer based on their windows 7 screenshot -- turned out they were using a completely different OS

Thanks samcarter‭. I'm sorry that I had that experience. I have seen in the Q&A section another question about the user having done something similar. Fortunately, on the question I mentioned, other elements were good enough to be sure that the OP was not using the Web app or a mobile app and the feature in focus in Windows and the Mac apps workings are the same.

Based on your suggestion, I posted an answer. Please let me know what you think.
