How to record both audio output and input as separate channels in Audacity?
Is it possible to record both audio in and out with Audacity?
I am imagining that after configuring it somehow, I would end up with two concurrent audio tracks: One for what the microphone heard, and one for what was sent to my headphones. For example, maybe I'm trying to record myself playing a game and commentating, but I want to tweak the loudness of game audio and my commentary separately. I know I can simply let the mic pick up sound from my speakers, but I don't want to do it that way, that messes with audio quality and acoustics. I want Audacity to capture the output stream directly.
I have Audacity on Arch Linux with pipewire.
