# Update, after [Olin Lathrop's answer](https://powerusers.codidact.com/posts/284259/284261#answer-284261). Mine isn't a ThinkPad.I phoned Lenovo Technical Support to ask why [the "Battery Charge Threshold" in Olin Lathrop's answer](https://powerusers.codidact.com/posts/284259/284261#answer-284261) doesn't appear in my Lenovo Vantage. The Lenovo engineer confirmed me that "Battery Charge Threshold" is available in Lenovo Vantage **_merely for ThinkPads_**. Then I asked — why on earth can't "Battery Charge Threshold" be universalized to all Lenovo laptops??? She escalated to her supervisor who said the same thing. Then they accessed my laptop remotely, and confirmed that "Battery Charge Threshold" doesn't befit my model. Supervisor concluded that he will escalate my request to his engineering team, but he can't promise any changes that shall take at least 6 months. What (preferably) free programs can I use instead? What 3rd party programs automatically stop my laptop's battery from charging, at a percentage that I pick?- [Battery Limiter](https://windowsreport.com/software-stop-battery-charging/) doesn't answer my question, because it requires you to "manually unplug or plug the power cord into the laptop."

- [Other brands](https://superuser.com/q/502328) like
- [Asus](https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1032726/) allow you to pick your own maximum battery level, like 80% or 50%. But my Lenovo laptop _**— that's NOT a ThinkPad —**_ doesn't, and proffers just 55-60%.
