Reddit: How to get around "whoa there, pardner!"
For the last year or so, when I go to old.reddit.com I get the "whoa there, pardner" message with some garbage about scripts. reddit.com says "You've been blocked by network security.".
I do use a bunch of common online security/privacy measures and it is almost certainly the source of the problem. I don't scrape reddit as the notice claims, but other people who share my IP might be doing so. I don't really want to turn off any of my privacy extensions and I don't want to create a reddit account. I don't have faith in their support ticket process. I'm asking here in case someone happens to already knows the answer.
What specifically does reddit look at when deciding whether to let anonymous users access the page? Once your IP on the list, is that it? Or is there some UserAgent etc. that they let through even despite the IP?
As I said, I am not looking to scrape, only to view the occasional link I get in search engine hits. Solutions that don't scale are welcome.

It is possible to view these with an third party archive, like archive.ph. It does take a while for the page to be archived if nobody has done so yet.
