Adding a period after footnote numbers in Microsoft Word on macOS
I'm using Microsoft Word v16.9.3 on macOS Sonoma 14.6.1. I need to use Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition for a paper, and this calls for the footnotes being in 12 point font and the footnote numbers not being superscripted and being followed by a period. The first line must also be indented. There is an example paper on the Purdue OWL site showing this.
I have managed to figure out most elements except for adding a period after the number. While this is standard numbering outside of footnotes, this option is not presented to me on macOS for footnotes. A few guides I've identified online provide instructions I am unable to complete because the various options or dialogs referenced are either not available or do not have the settings indicated.

So to be clear, the question is: How do I add a period after the number for footnotes in Microsoft Word on macOS (as shown in this example)?
