A: What is the main reason for some website hosting companies to change ports? Many automated scanners will attempts brute forcing SSH servers running on port 22 using common username+password pairs. I'm not sure if this is what OP means by "port forwarding". The term is more commonly used for assigning a port number to a particular IP behind a NAT gateway. (more) |
