Why's "Merge Layers" faded greyed out? Then how can I merge or combine these 3 colored areas?

Hello. Any Photoshop experts here?

As practice, I am trying COLOR my black chair BLUE. As you can see from screenshots, I missed 2 spots that I had to color separately. But I don't want 3 separate layers, because doubtless, this is unproductive! I want to color all 3 layers the same simultaneously, rather than clicking on 3 separate layers.

But "Merge Layers" is faded and greyed out! How can I merge these 3 layers then?

You only have the single "Color Fill 2" layer selected. You have to select all the layers you want to merge at the same time. Hold the Ctrl key and click all three layers to select all three at the same time. All three should turn the lighter, "selected" color. Then right-click one of them and the "Merge Layers" option should be available.
