Avoid colour change for battery indicator in macOS 15 during low power mode

In previous versions of macOS, the battery indicator in the menu bar was coloured in either black or white (depending in the wallpaper):

screenshot of the battery indicator. The outline is in black and current battery level is indicated by a partial black filling. The background of the screenshot is light orange

In macOS 15 Sequoia, the battery indicator changes colour to yellow if "low power" mode is activated:

If one happens to use an orangey coloured wallpaper and/or has the "night shift" option switched on, which tints the whole screen reddish, the new yellow fill colour is very hard to see.

Is there any way to avoid this colour change other than deactivating the "low power" mode?

(In case the exact OS version is relevant, I'm currently using macOS 15.2 on an M1 chip)

As a workaround, one can use the open source application "stats" (https://github.com/exelban/stats) as a replacement for the mac battery indicator:

"stats" also allows various customisations, liking showing the remaining time, showing the percentage inside the battery symbol, changing the size of the symbol etc. Using such a powerful app just for the battery indicator might be a bit overkill, but at least one can clearly see the battery level.

(the mac battery indicator can be switched off in System settings->Control center->Battery->Show Battery in Menu Bar)
