Why does copying an image from Chrome and pasting it into MS Paint reduce its quality, and how can I prevent this?
When I copy an image in Chrome:
and paste it into MS Paint, the quality is reduced:
Why, and how can I prevent that?
I use Windows 11 24H2 Pro, Paint 11.2412.311.0 and a MSI GS76 Stealth 11UH laptop.

This is just a wild guess, but it seems more likely to me that the resolution is lost when copying, not pasting. For example, maybe Chrome is copying the image as displayed on your screen, not the image stored on the server.
Try pasting to a different app. If you get the same resulting resolution as in Paint, then it's evidence that the above may be correct.
