Comment Post #284577 Are you sure `.viminfo` is a binary file? I'm not a vim user, but having a look at one lying around, it seems to be an ordinary text file.

Comment Post #284373 That's definitely not the source of our problem. Voting on other posts works fine, it is just the one linked in the question which does not accept votes. If we weren't logged in, voting on other posts would hardly be possible.

Comment Post #281755 If you have access to the pdf of the books, you could try `pdfinfo <filename>.pdf` This can give an indication of the tool used to create the pdf
