Question | — |
Can I post this question — now REwritten and citing Super User — similar to one deleted by moderator? Just checking before posting the following. Thanks. Title Can I await Mozilla or Firefox to unearth the awry Add On(s)awry, before attempting myself? How long needs Firefox? Body 1. Does Firefox automatically disable Add Ons that become astray? 2. Or does Firefox rely on volunteers to... (more) |

@OlinLathrop It's not necessary to keep being unmannerly toward me. There is absolutely no mess here. All that appeared necessary was to add a URL. @Quasimodo Apologies. I can overlook comments, especially those from another male user who has been smearing me. I just responded to both posts. (more) |

Question | — |
Wasn't this deleted question salvageable? A moderator unilaterally deleted https://powerusers.codidact.com/posts/285718, but isn't deletion overkill? Can't it be saved? A moderator can simply add the necessary citations. I don't think "a day" is a reasonable, workable deadline to edit a post. I may not be able to check this website fo... (more) |

Question | — |
What's this orange "Work" with briefcase icon in Firefox? I've used Firefox for approximately 10 years, but I've never seen this before! Please see below. Image alt text >I was working under the premise (very unlikely true, but still) that interacting with that icon would do nothing at all and then the asker could be justified in asking the questi... "don't blame others". I am not blaming others. I am just highlighting that the intent of my question has always been obvious, which Olin Lathrop's answer missed. If a user is uncertain about the intent of my question, then they can request clarification as comments, rather than construe it uncompassi... (more) |

@#36377 It is unwarranted to use words like "abuse" here. I have not abused any thing. See my reply to Monica above pls. (more) |

@#8046 There is no basis whatsoever for "bad form". How isn't my intended question obvious? I all ways intended to click URL's while using Skype. NOT clicking on URL's was out of question. From my questions, anyone can know that I know about NOT clicking on URL's — doubtless I am not asking about thi... (more) |

"Opening a browser when you click on a URL sounds like normal behavior. Do you mean you have a different default browser". No, I use Google Chrome. I just fancy controlling when new windows will steal my focus. Normally, new windows should steal my focus. But not when I am using Skype or Zoom. (more) |

Question | — |
How do I Google for ≤,≥ a particular natural number? How can I Google to see all titles on a public library, like Toronto's, that have ≥ n copies? n is a natural number and UNBOUNDED. I see no relevant operator here. What must I input along with `site:torontopubliclibrary.ca` ? This DOESN'T duplicate this other question on a BOUNDED range of num... (more) |

Question | — |
How can I halt Windows from forthwith switching to Google Chrome, after I click on URLs on Skype? Whenever I click on an URL in Skype, Windows opens up Google Chrome straightaway with the webpage. How do I halt this, so that Windows stays focussed on Skype? I like to click and open URL's — that counterparties on Skype message me — straightaway in my browser, to remind me to read them after I... (more) |

Distinguish like I'm 9 years old — Bit rate vs. Data rate? How do Data rate and Total bitrate differ? I am untutored in computer science — please explain like I am 9 years old. See below pls. Question | — |
How can the total size of all frames of a video > that video's size? I commanded Free Video to JPG converter to convert every frame of some .mp4 into JPGs. One .mp4 of 131 MB got converted into pictures totalling 700 MB! Another .mp4 of 377 MB got converted into pictures totalling 1.0 GB! Undeniably, these pictures all hail from the video. Thus I'm bewildered by th... (more) |

How can you edit the keys on keyboard's Numeric Pad, with Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator? These steps from UC Davis don't picture or mention the number pad on the far right hand side of computer keyboards. Question | — |
How to concurrently, productively change all gray color in all headings and subheadings in this PDF? Screen shot of PDF below. Do not ask me to manually change the gray color in each heading and subheading individually — too much time and work! I hanker change to #4DFFFF — CMYK = 70, 0, 0, 0. I am computer illiterate. Question | — |
How do I color — some but NOT all — text in a sentence, in HTML5? My corporation has a discussion forum that uses HTML. I'm uncertain if this is HTML5, and if it also uses CSS. `Color this red.` failed, probably because "The color attribute is not supported by HTML5". `Red paragraph text` worked. But this code DOESN'T answer my question — because I want j... (more) |
